Well, I now have a Parker Vise Wrench #4, but no Parker Vise
Anyone know what vise this No. 4 goes with? Appears to be 1".

6 years later, I have unearthed a C Parker vise , but it is not a swivel base model. It is too heavy for me to lift so I can investigate it further. The wrench got sold on Ebay quite some time ago, but I wouldn't have needed it anyway.

I need some Parker vise info. Is 88 1/2 a model # or the weight of the vise, or both ?

4 3/4 in wide jaws and weighs in at 94 pounds. I’ve found that the easiest way to deal with these larger vises is to unscrew the dynamic jaw and slide so that you’re dealing with two separate pieces. The "tower"(static jaw) will still be a little heavier, but much better than 94 lbs.

The downside is if everything is rusted together and you can’t get it apart, you then have to resort to plan B...get some young strong help.
Nice find! A couple hours with a wire wheel will have it looking like new.

Yes. The data sheet says 88 1/2 has a swivel base and pipe jaws. When I get it up off the ground, I will investigate further.

The pipe jaws part is correct, although they may have been removed, but that vise you have never had a swivel base. Unless I’m missing something.

Yes, I see some holes in the side that could be for mounting pipe jaws. I am sure  this one never had a swivel base.

Thanks to Mike, here is a photo from a catalog that shows the 88 1/2 with pipe jaws and a stationary base.

Mike

the data sheet is incorrect pertaining to the base.
