No idea.  I believe we can probably rule out nutcracker, but leatherwork may still be on the table.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

I worked in a glass shop but never used a tool like that.  But I can see how that could be a point driver.  triangular points would load into the chamber,  the blade would push them into the wood frame, then the spring would reset and another point would load.
