Sweet saw. I got to try one out when my buddy was selling one. I only made two cuts in 12" pine but could tell it was a amazing saw. He always picks them up when he can cause he sais there great sellers no matter the condition.
My 2 year old stihl ms 441cm has 70cc. It does everything I need an then some. I can only imigane how the guys back in the day ran those big saws.
I have an 044 that I use mostly, actually it's my favorite saw out of all of them. It was the model that your saw replaced. Actually it was the MS 440 that your saw replaced, but the 044 and MS 440 are the same saws.
Your right, I couldn't imagine using the 090 with a 6' bar on it out in the woods. I have a 28" bar also for it and it's much, much better than the 6 footer, but still it will get you worn out quick. Now days they are used mostly with the Alaskan Saw Mills for slabbing lumber and for hanging up in a guys shop for a conversation purpose. They work real good doing that.
