Thursday Motherlode on Bluff St.
« on: September 10, 2011, 04:46:03 AM »
Found this sale on Craigslist and thought it was a local junktique guy that runs sales from time to time, but this was a couple blocks up the street.  The garage was loaded with battery drills, etc, but I found several tool boxes full of old stuff and proceeded to make a pile at the guy's feet that just kept on growing.  As more folks showed up, I had to work faster to grab  what was there and I came away with a bunch of stuff for $50, a fair amount that will get resold either at Cattle congress or elsewhere.  I'll run the photos and then maybe make some comments, but never seen a Gambles/Artisan Tool Box or a pr. of Nicopress crimpers from National Phone Co.

The "Red Tray" Photo goes sorta like this from the lower left:
Pretty much a full set of Wards DOE's with the inlaid fractions
PowrKraft DOE
Bonney DOE
Barcalo Buffalo N-10
Indestro #924
8" w. german Adj. wrench(logo is too faint to pull out)
SK 3/8" drive ratchet(exc. to near mint)45170
Auto Kit sold by sears but no logo

Haven't gone through the stuff on the extreme left yet, but  I did see one old Blue Point in there

The other two tool boxes were a pretty nice Park and a Union.

A few closeups and a couple other photos of stuff from the sale

The TRW fender cover is in near mint shape and I wondered if anyone knew when this was made??  Not really a tool, but many a tool was laid upon it, I'll bet.

What is the deep offset shorty DBE in the extreme upper left of pic #6? The red shelf and orange tray photo? Is that the Indestro #924?

Congradulations, you should have made him room to get his car in the garage.

That's the payback for hitting a lot of sales that have zero items you are interested in. When I hear people say they dont like to go to yard/estate sales, I just laugh, more good stuff for me when I hit a good one!!

Enjoy the goodies !!

Bonneyman:  The DBE Deep offset is a 3/8x7/16 old Craftsman "Vanadium" series wrench.  fair amount of the plating is gone from one side of it, but still very functional.  Early enough wrench that I don't think it has numbers on it.
