Bonney pliers - what were they used for?

These pliers are 8" long and marked BONNEY B20. Does anyone know what they were used for. E-Bay ad just says speciality pliers. Thanks

Yep - battery pliers. For the older-style terminal nuts that were square. Alot of newer cars have the hex or allen style nuts.
And I just bought a NOS Channellock from Epsteins!
