Tom-A-Hawk made by Bridgeport Hardware
« on: August 17, 2013, 04:42:23 PM »
Here is a Bridgeport Hardware TOM-A-HAWK crate box opening tool that is missing it's "Perfect Handle" scales.
I have "cleaned up" dirty and soiled PH handles, but never have really made any replacements.
This tool is on e-Bay with  scale handles, and some sell for a pretty penny.

Anybody want to make and install (scales) handles on this "turn of the century tool?

I can do that Chuck! It would be a nice project.
What would you trade for it?

Noel, thanks for the response.
You asked what would you trade for it?
Did you mean what tool would I trade for the tom-a-hawk itself?,,,,,Or did you mean what would I trade for the construction of the 2 scales of wood and the installation of them upon the tom-a-hawk?

I have no personal attachment to it.
I found it way out in the boonies at a private "garage sale" between Palestine TX.,, and the Trinity River bottoms,,, on a bench of an old ranch, and still earning it's keep as a tool.
I'm going to send it to you, won't cost you a dime.
I will send it out by US Post Office tomorrow,,,Monday August 19th,, which is my 75th birthday.
Also same date is Donna's birthday, August 19. But I won't tell her age.

Happy Birthday, MrChuck.  A special day for certain.  It is also my mother's birthday, and was also my grandmothers.  I love the tool and can't wait to see it reburb'd
"FORGED IN THE USA" myself.  Be good to your tools!
