More Mystery Pliers

These pliers were stamped "Farmers Union  - Utility - ".  I've never heard of Farmers Union tools.  Does anyone else have any Farmers Union tools?

I checked out the website, and it doesn't seem obvious that the National Farmers Union produced tools.
