Stamped Action
« on: July 25, 2012, 08:30:05 PM »
I can't say I'm surprised to find a stamped Action brand wrench, but it was a new one on me and I thought I'd share.  I'm not positive it is related to Thorsen's brand; Action.

I wonder if Bus has seen anything like that in his auctions. It doesn't look like any Thorsen I have ever seen, so I would be surprised to learn that it is really a Thorsen wrench. I haven't ever seen the "Action" brand mark stylized that way either. I haven't ever seen a stamped Thorsen wrench that I know of. I think you have a genuine oddity there. Very interesting and difficult to research since the terms are so common. I can't wait to find out more about it.

I have never seen a stamped wrench with forged jaws. All of the stamped wrenches are just that-stamped. I copied a photo of the Thorsen Action wrenches from AA. Not even close.
