About a year ago, I was visiting a sick friend and he asked me to help him price and sell some of his blacksmith equipment. I bought (and paid for)this anvil from him(don't ask what I paid for it, it was not a cheap anvil) and didn't pick the anvil up that day. Larry died about 4 days later and I didn't get back to pick up the anvil until this past month. His wife asked if we could help price and sell a lot of his other blacksmith stuff so I spent a Saturday pricing and selling a lot of the equipment(doing my best to be fair to everyone involved). If I would let myself think about the stuff belonging to Larry, it was very hard to do! I just had to concentrate on the value of the stuff. Anyway, Larry's anvil came to live at my shop for a while! It's a pretty nice Hay-Budden stamped 164 pounds. I have not looked up the date of manufacture yet but I think it is a later Hay-Budden.
