Tools- My Crescent Display
« on: June 05, 2011, 10:41:30 AM »
Since I bought a Crescent at Dowd's sale Saturday, I was reminded that the Crescent display thread was lost in the old forum, so here is a Photobucket album of it.

Neat item!  Where do you keep it?

On another note, owning a thing like that may drive a decision to collect Crescent Jamestown, NY wrenches.

Thanks for rebuilding it, I really enjoyed the thread.

Just what Mama said- Where are you going to put THAT??
For now it is on top of a B&D plastic roll-around box right behind me, but I am not sure where it will be when full. Yes, I have been trying ti find the correct tools to fill it.
Not doing too bad yet, and I thought the Crestoloys would be hard, but the Crescent pipe wrenches are turning out to be totally elusive.

It's gone...: (

First I have ever seen, wing logo stamped on a stock pattern wrench, interesting..
It would have been the correct vintage...
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Gone. The pictures on the display board don't match that wrench.

Yep, I have those two panels on my display, but in much better condition. Still haven't found any of the pipe wrenches, though.

I finally found my first Crescent Pipe Wrench! An 8" one in nasty condition.
Bought it on Ebay just now.

You would think so, but in my experience, they do not. I'm hoping the the "Wings" emblem is on the one I just bought.

This 18" Crescent Stillson type pipe wrench with wing logo sold on the wrenching News 2010 Doug Busch Auction. Looks like they made both a Stillson type and a Ridgid type.

I finally got around to putting the pipe wrench in vinegar today. We'll see how it turns out.
