Bonney tool bag
« on: March 10, 2012, 07:02:33 AM »
I just got this Bonney tool bag in leatherette on the bay.  From the logo am thinking this is from the 20s.  It will hold 3 wrenches in the 9/16s size.   Does anyone have a Bonney catalog that can tell me what was originally in the 29A set?  The wrenches were there for effect,  the bag was empty on purchase. Thanks.

The '37 catalog shows a set 29 (not 'A') with 3 'CV' short pattern double box wrenches in it.  #2804,2805,2806.
For '37 there is a plaid pattern inside the rollup on the left corner, I think yours is older than that tho, and I don't know what the 'A' is.....

Set Z29 was the same set with Zenel wrenches)

2804 - 3/8 x 7/16
2805 - 1/2 x 9/16
2806 - 7/16 x 5/8
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

I think you are correct in dating that little bag and I would have also been all over it
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.
