Two thoughts beyond Drucker's anagrammatic wit.

1) Plan the work, work the plan.

2) The manager's job consists of five activities: planning, oganizing, directing, monitoring, and reporting.

I never found work degenerating. Only effete management gurus and some politicians might find it so.
