Sometimes when diggiing through a box of junk tools, seems more are modified in some way than not.  Heads been heated and bent over to fit,  ground off like what you have here,  these have enough meat the jaws didnt open up.   Would take a fair size notebook to record what bolt, on which machine these were modified for, but that was never done,  they just got throwed in a bottom drawer til the old wrench turner was done for good.   So yesterday I visited a junk store that sees my shadow on a regular basis.  Sifted through the foreign, the metric, and some old black Drop Forged wrenches, of which I have plenty.   Up popped a Bonney double open end, extra thin, 5/8 x 11/16.  But short, not long like a tappet wrench.  Dirty, but shiny underneath.  Further digging brought up its brother, 3/4 x 13/16, has some grinding done to it.   Made sure the rest of the family wasnt hiding in there.  So, might dedicate a drawer just to the modifieds.  As if any of the tool boxes had an empty spot.

We need a "homemade and modified tools" thread.
"FORGED IN THE USA" myself.  Be good to your tools!

I have a couple of Bonney tappet wrenches.  Both of them have been modified.  Amazingly enough, they were both sanded down to make the thinner.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

I thought that there was a modified wrench thread a long time ago.  Maybe before the crash?

For those that have been around a long time (not me), the website crashed and almost everything was lost.

Oh, that’s too bad. But I guess not too surprising.
