Two new Wrist busters
« on: March 08, 2022, 09:17:32 AM »
I added another wrist buster drill to my tool box.  1/2 inch Black & Decker 375 RPM , should be a real torque house, $10...  needed cleaning and a new cord. The other is a big 1/2" Thor a little faster, 550 RPM. Be sure to have your feet firmly planted when that drill bit grabs

Hello, Joe. Those are great tools!! I have the Black & Decker, and use it for mixing joint compound. It will spin the entire full 5 gallon bucket!!! You can hold the bucket still with your feet, but I learned from the drywall guys to stand on the edges of the open bucket

Hi JoeCB,
What a find that was.
Are those 5/8" spindles?

No matter how much you cut off, it's still too short

Great finds & great price.   Just make sure you screw in at least an 8" pipe nipple into the top of the B&D prior to using it.  Without it, your arms will twist up like in the old Popeye cartoons.

My Granddad had a B&D like it that we used for concrete drilling.  No need for a hammer drill.

Dad had a Thor like yours.  I'll have to see if I can find it the next time I go home.   Both tools were built to last.

Hi there JoeCB,

What I mean, is are the 1/2" Chuck's threads ( Mount) 1/2 - 20 or 5/8 - 16 ?

After seeing your post, I'll be keeping an eye out. That Black & Decker one might show up here.
