Armstrong driver

Came home with one of these today from a farm sale.  Never saw one before.

The knurled handle slides down to engage the two pins--or slides up to act as an extension. I was hoping it was spring loaded to act as a clutch-operated nut driver handle.

Sounds like it's the NM-110 driver.  I would like to come across one of those and try it out.  I see what Northwoods means by wanting it spring loaded.  That would be cool.

Sorry, there.  I was referencing Figure 87, the 1/4"  Drive Handle and Rotating-Grip Extension.
There is really more to it than a quick glance will tell.  Armstrong was big on putting knurled rotating grips on their stuff, but this one has two pins on the shank that lock the rotating grip.  So, you can turn the tool if it is locked--or use it as an extension if it is unlocked. 
The top end is recessed to take a driver of some sort.  Actually, mine is the 9/32" version.
Note that Williams hade a very similar tool and put it in lots of electrical tool sets.

Thanks for sharing the info!! I have seen similar ones in the larger drives, but never in 1/4" or 9/32" !!

Williams and Walden made similar extension/spinners in 1/4” drive. Plomb made a 9/32” one in the WF tools (WF6).
