Drill or Lathe thingy....ID Help

Drill or Lathe thingy....ID Help. There's no ID marks what so ever on this. Came in box with several Jacobs chucks from a machinists workshop. Thank for your help, Jeff

I am not a machinist, but I think that is a lathe center.

Its a live center for a lathe, it has bearings in. A dead center does not have bearings.
I just paid $30 for a new one.
