Large 'C' shaped DOE -- Unknown

Anyone ever see anything like this?
Appears to be a malleable casting about 12" OAL.
Only marks are the 'G' and the '3'over'4'.

There is or was a tool company in the Chicago area called Grand,maybe something they made way back when?
