Official PHARTS Application

Here is the beginning of my application to join PHARTS. LOML remembers putting a box full in the new shed.....2 years ago. I'll get them out as soon as I can. For starts I have a 6-7/8" Hercules  made is USA


My little hatchet is 9" long, marked DGM  Nr 5664-87 on one side and GERMANY on the other side.




This 4 pc set was given to me by a friend, they are in brand new condition. The only marking is on the next to largest one and say IRWIN-USA

Thanks Lou. I have been doing some carving as of late and use this little hatchet to remove larger pieces of wood instead of a chisel or knife. When I find the box, I have one or 2 more of these little hatchets.

Very nice collections.  I see very few of these and they are always overpriced in my opinion.

WW2 Ink marked Irwin screwdrivers, particularly the 11” version are very rare and greatly prized by Jeep and other WW2 collectors. They will always be expensive. Here is a catalog page the old PHARTS may like to see.

Don't know what the intention of PHARTS exactly is.
Apparently has to do with vintage screwdrivers with riveted wooden handles.
Own a few including four IRWIN-USofA GOV. STOCK # 41-S-1076.
WW2 surplus, bought nearly forty years ago at the Amsterdam flea market.

Originally it was for those of us who collected H D Smith Perfect Handle tools and perhaps rebuilt them or in general admired them. Now I say it can be anyone who collects and admires perfect handle style tools such as H D Smith, Irwin, and the German made ones seen often.

After much research by WW2 tool collectors, it has been determined that the Federal Stock Number
41-S-1076 marked screwdrivers are actually Korean War vintage, in case you're interested. The ink marked Irwin perfect handle drivers have been clearly seen in several WW2 pictures.

In recent years, I have not gone into that matter any more.
So now it is clear that they are after WW2. So be it.
I'll keep them anyway.
