Part of a box lot today

Wonder how many people know what a bearing scraper looks like or how it is used.  These Vlchek bearing scrapers were in a box lot that I paid $4.00 for to get two bottles of wood glue not knowing it contained the scrapers.  These are near mint, certainly had never been used much.

I've got a few but have never seen one with the slot like those have.  I've done lots of scraping on machine tools, but not on bearings.... although a reconditioning project on the list will have me giving it a go

Those are beauties. I need to find some like those for the wife. She constantly blows the minds of her coworkers bringing her tools to the Babbitt bearing shop she works at even though she runs the office.

Any other uses for bearing scrapers?  I keep wondering if they've got a woodworking application.

I had 4 of those a few years ago. If I remember right the were in new condition. They had red wood handles. I sold them to somebody on this tool site. I have since gotten a few more and will keep them as I now have a use for them. I fool around with old machines and old engines a lot and they may come in handy. I had to borrow one from my late friend Okie Custer when we were repairing a windmill for my friends wrecking yard. It is still working 37 years later.

Look like they would be just right for spearing olives and little bitty cocktail olives.
