Late to the party
« on: July 02, 2018, 07:47:52 AM »
Well like many on here I found myself yearning for common sense tool talk and real conversation. Luckily I spotted slipknot on channel 3 (I wont tell capt douche) and he pointed me here, thanks for the heads up.

Most of you Im sure know me, but for those who dont. Job is in the construction industry, recently moved to Ohio via Texas and Louisiana from Indiana. Hobbies include tools, guns, farming, trucks, and naps. Glad to see you all.

Good to hear from you. I've been wondering how the new shop is coming along with the Oliver also.

Welcome to warm Ohio (erm, maybe that's supposed to be a warm welcome...).   Happy to see you here.

Not yet, all the pistons, crank, cam, and plungers are out. I have one bearing I have my doubts about. It looks like uneven wear, (one side has wear and the other side looks new radially ) at first I thought bent crank but I would think you would see wear in other bearings if it was the crank. All of the connecting rod and main journals measure correctly. Next thought is bent rod, I think I will check it against another rod. All of the other bearings (rod and main) look near new.

Hopefully its all good and whoever last opened it up was just careless with this one connection. They obviously did not care to much or they would have actually bought a seal kit for it instead of using that blue BS out of a tube.

oh yippee gaskets in a tube!!!

I'm still waiting on the Ford 800 head to come back from the machine shop. He told me it would be a while but its over 2 months now. Good thing I got 4 or 5 spare tractors setting around.

Highland,  Odd wear on one bearing only tells me its the block, not he crank.   Needs to be Line-Bored to get it right.
