Sorry I don't have the capability of taking or posting photos. I did research on line and found other nippers like mine and in several cases had the same letters, JIC, forged or stamped on the tool.

I have seen the same mark on Heller Nippers a few times, as I have owned probably a dozen or so sets of them over the years. I have also seen it used on tongs for blacksmith work.

I think the the JIC was a mark used for ID from the factory for possibly a certain organization that purchased many tools from them. I just can't remember what it stood for...Job ?? Council or something along those lines.

The only JIC that I know of, other than an owners mark, is the Joint Industrial Counci.
They established standards for certain industries. Hydraulics and electrical being two I am familiar with. Whether they also had standards for 'smith related items I don’t know. Just a thought.
