Stanley Tool Chest
« on: February 02, 2018, 08:53:07 AM »
Got this Stanley Handyman tool chest at auction. Have not seen one in my tool collecting days.Looks like I'm missing three pieces: one small wood chisel;one piece beside the punch; and a small tool between the pliers and drill. I can figure what size chisel I need but the other pieces are unknown. Think this is a H895 tool chest but am not finding any info. Any hints appreciated.

Amazingly complete!  Likely one of those well meant Christmas gifts?

I think this is the same as yours.

After looking a little closer yours may be a bit newer. The one in the pic is in the 55 & 58 catalog. It should still help you figure out what you are missing

Thanks Bill Had figured out that H895 was proper part number but your picture is great help in identifying missing parts.

I think we posted at the same time Jim. I amended my previous post to be a little more accurate.

I had a look in John Walters book on Stanley tools, he lists a few handyman items but unfortunately not the one your looking for. His new book which will be coming out apparently has lots of new info so it may be in the new issue.

I have a similar looking chisel - not great condition - but it's only 1/2" wide.  I'm guessing yours are 1/4 and 1/2?

yes I'm short the 3/4 chisel. see 1/4 & 1/2 on ebay but am sure a 3/4 in will show up.
NO Les it probably won't be a christmas present its pretty heavy and postage to Ca would be excessive.

With the blue and red paint, is it of the Handyman series?

The advertisement Bill posted states 27 tools included in the set but I count 28 pictured, I wonder if the tool along side of the egg beater drill is a center punch? Center punch isn't in the tool list.
