Today's Habitat Restore score.

I went to the habitat Restore and it was the best day in awhile. All of what you see was $33.00 plus tax. The big OTC chain wrench was $2.50 because it was half off on your most expensive purchase day. A nice pair of Sargent parallel pliers. A bunch of adjustable wrenches with the 4 inch one being a Diamond. All American tools except the 1/2 inch wobbly extension. One of the adjustable's is a Xcelite. Also a C-Man 3/8 drive breaker bar and a 1/4 inch T-handle. A nice Plvmb Los Angeles 1/2 x 9/16 combo wrench. Also a Schrader / Bellow's blowgun. There was a lot more stuff, but being a old guy on Social Security i have to chose wisely.

That's a nice batch of tools.  That pile would be 125.00 at my ReStore if they ever had anything that nice.

All the adjustable wrenches had prices on them from a Sharpie marking pen. Maybe  garage sale or estate sale leftovers. One of the You Tube channels I watch is Mrpete222 / Tubalcain. He is always going to auctions, estate and garage sales. He often makes the comment that ( Another old man has died ) He is a ex machine shop teacher and a fellow tool hoarder. Abom79 is another You Tube machinist and tool hoarder. I also have to mention Kieth Rucker a machinist and wood worker. I have learned a lot about machine shop tools watching these 3 fellows. Kieth Rucker restores old metal and wood working machines. He also works at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture in Tifton Georgia. He keeps the old machines and their steam train running. All 3 of the You Tuber's have one thing in common, their love of Starrett tools. I will be going back to the Habitat  store tomorrow when I get payed.

Of all the adjustable wrenches at the store, I only left one behind. It was a common Crescent 12 incher that was bent so bad somebody must have used it to de mount a tire off a rim. The tools there run about half American and half imported. Not to many ratchets for some reason. The best time to be there shopping is when they bring out a cart with fresh donations. I also buy lots of hardware like nuts, bolts, Simpson brackets, solder, paint, solvents, lumber, cabinets, nails, hinges, electrical items and other related products. They get lots of out of date hardware items from local stores when they clean outdated stock off the shelves.
