And what did you get for Christmas?
« on: December 26, 2016, 07:18:30 PM »
Get a tool for Christmas?   New or old,  or just new to you?  I didn't because the family has no idea what to get that I don't already have.  So, today was at a little junk/thrift shop, stumbled across something that has been on my bucket (?) list for years.  Finally found a Crescent double, six and eight inch, without the gold plated pricing that has stopped me in the past.  Old, lots of patina, works kind of, no welds, tears or holes drilled thru it!  What did you get, or are going to get?

Buck Bros chisel, probably a patternmaker's chisel, from an estate sale.  My bride and I had gone to one of those Christmas fairs, which was real dreck this year, and we diverted to the sale on the way home.  There was probably more when the sale opened; this was two hours after opening.  Still, it's a nice chisel.

I got several new items i needed for the garage/workshop. A 4-1/2 inch grinder and a full face shield to protect my eyes. No new old tools do to everything being closed. Habitat store will be open again tomorrow and maybe i will get lucky.

I used some of my Christmas bonus to buy very new tools.  Two SAE/Metric 32 piece hex socket sets - one for work, one for home.  And a Motion Pro T handle bit driver with JIS pattern bits sizes 1,2,3. and extra bits to use at work.  The tools are new but at least at home in my shop I'll be using them on a 50 year old motorcycle (along with my other crazy projects).
