swing fence plane
« on: November 06, 2016, 03:56:54 PM »
Is this a Stanley 49 plane ? The tag says Stanley but after buying it I noticed it doesn't say Stanley on the plane body nor does it say 49. It is a 49 but I question the maker. I got a Stanley 48 and 2 Stanley 191's with the same bid so while I'm a little disappointed my $55 bill was not a total waste.

So do you suspect its a Union.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

It is a 48 and it could be a Union as Stanley was reported to have bought some Union planes and ground the trademark off and sold them as Stanley.
