Folding crosscut saw, any info?
« on: September 19, 2016, 09:58:56 PM »
I made the drive from Utah to minosota, an now halfway back to Utah. I have stopped at a easy 15 antique stores. Just been enjoying the drive. I haven't really bought much but always looking. Did buy a few things but nothing special. One store had all sorts of antique Plumb pebble finish an some snap on an all sorts in a few shelves. I didn't keep looking closely cause the price was insane. On the other hand I picked up some diamond horseshoe 12" adjustable wrenchs for 75 cents each.
Anyway...

Today I was in North Dakota and saw a folding crosscut saw. It was poor condition but the tag read "rare folding crosscut saw 250". Price aside, I noticed in the midddle it had almost a rivet of sorts. It clearly snapped in half. I have never saw such tool. Ime not much of a crosscut saw guy thoe so it could be something I have yet to hear of. I did some googling but did not find much, any info from you guys or any sources to share?

Thanks for the info guys.

I have a feeling that was it, I can't be 100% certain but it sure looks like it. The saw was pretty rusty, the mechanism for separating was barely visible.

Do those things really bring anything near 250? I would be suprised if so, but I've been wrong before.
