I have one that came with the irons.  It is a soldering iron heater to go on a stove, probably kerosene.

WVTools it is a soldering iron heater but it is heated with charcoal.

Wouldn't it have ventilation holes in the bottom if the charcoal went inside it?  Mine is similar, but with an open ring on the bottom.  The one I have has no ventilation holes inside it.
