Two dollar wrenchs
« on: August 04, 2016, 07:50:35 PM »
Today I went to an auction. Paid $5 for the Berylco pliers and the W159 non sparking wrench, Paid $5 for the other three wrenchs so I figure the average cost was $2 --Buuuut I had a dizzy spell and they called an ambulance and took me to emergency room. 5 hours later and after chest x-ray; nuclear heart test and nuclear lung test plus urinalysis and blood work I was pronounced fit to leave. Caveat; my car was at auction house 4 or 5 miles away. Taxi said 1 hour wait so took another service costing $35. I,m 83 and had never been transported in an ambulance. Not really a great ride. After three holes in my right arm I said "let hospital do it" Smart  move only 1 hole in my left arm. Assuming all hospital and ambulance was pro bono these five wrenchs now cost $9 each and I missed the 5:30 auction. Not sure where I went wrong.

hi Jim,  I am not a doctor, but your spell may have been caused by the idea of such low prices for those tools.

perhaps you should insist on paying more next time.

only kidding, I really hope that you are A-O-K,  Frank

Your problem is that you decided to be born too early!  If you had put it off for another 50 years, you would be only 33!  But, Oh, the experiences you would have missed!
Take care.

Some details on my $2 wrenchs
The C C CO wrench is deeply stamped Not hand stamped. It is 8 inchs long. Could it be C C PLOW CO ?
The large S wrench is 11 1/2 inchs long. Does not look handmade. Note large consistent bevel on all edges'Has no markings.
The alligator is 13 inchs long and is stamped TIN SHOP and W NORTH. All stamping looks hand done.
Looks like I've acquired 3 more orphans any info on them is appreciated.
