Flea market was a bust but.....
« on: June 05, 2016, 01:01:02 PM »
We stopped at a garage sale on the way home. Found this hidden away. When the guy asked for $3 for all, we just about flew away as fast as we could with them clasped in our fists! I didn't know these had a tubing cutter. First I've ever seen!

interesting, I have a couple of the wrenches here somewhere, but never knew about the tubing cutter.

is that screw there to hold the pin for the cutter ??

That reminds me!  Looking through a junk box on my second stop Thursday and came across a seni/familiar gadget   chrome steel. Shape of an elongated U with notches and a crossbar and thumbscrew. Never held one in my hand before but the stamped on info told all
Long story short, I bought a Plierrencg clamp for a quarter. You can find a picture on this site

Nice find!!!! I have a couple here, but no tubing cutter. Is that a complete set of attachments? (jaws)

It looks like the screw is holding the pin in place, which is holding the cutter. I don't know if it is a complete set because I've never had the pleasure of seeing one before. It has 7 pieces with the cutter. I'll have to do some looking.(I'm still smiling over this find!)

It is a complete set of jaws. The extended set of jaws with this model included 5 jaws.

Pipe cutter jaw
Wire jaw
Universal jaw
Giant universal jaw
Pipe jaw

This extended set also came with the clamp and a v clip attachment that fit over the base jaw to help keep the pipe centered when using the pipe cutter.

A giant pipe jaw could be substituted for the Giant universal jaw in the set.

There was also a vise jaw, but I've only seen one or two in the wild.

It appears you have at least two jaws from the earlier World Flight set.  They have angled gear ridges.  The won't fit your Plierench. Looks like a great excuse to buy another one.

The clamps are difficult to find.  I still don't have one.

Thank you for the tremendous info, Yadda! It is very much appreciated, and needed! LOL I just love sitting here looking at it. Trying to decide if I should clean them up a bit. They are quite dirty.

I have seen these, have a hankering for one, but the dollar figure is usually waaay up there.  So have avoided buying one because I'd just take it out an play with it and lose too much time!
