40 Taps

Last Sat (9th) there was a sale at a mobile home park and hosted by the Woodworking Club of the park. They have it every year. I try to get out there each year although have never found anything major. Sat. morning about all I saw of interest (to me) was this bunch of taps in a
Remington shaver case. Price $2.00 and the fellow who looked to be an old geezer like me says,
"Nobody uses them anymore" There must be a phone app that cuts threads.

I find taps & dies frequently at my local flea market, but the sellers think they're made of gold.  It's seldom that I can pick up a tap or die for a reasonable price.  I've never run across a large grouping of them either.

That said, over the last 10 years I have managed to assemble a working SAE tap & die set consisting of the most common sizes.  I've also started working on a metric set, again working on the  common sizes.

Just once I'd like to find a large lot like you found for $2

Lucky find. Looks pretty good.

I see them all the time for cheap but rusty or worn. I also see them all the time for the cost of new.
