Syracuse Z2 wrench--Bent?
« on: July 12, 2015, 12:12:22 PM »
I found several on ebay  , but not photographed to show if the handle is straight or bowed?
It's not in great condition , I don't collect plow wrenches , just curious.

Since end has been broken and ground down any bend is moot since wrench has no value.

Had 2 of these in my hands yesterday but they were severely pitted and the wanted 5 a piece for them. This one looks great compared to those 2 except for the bend.

I don't see evidence of grinding , must have been 75 years ago before it was buried in the barn floor under the manure. I'm not concerned with the value , wanted to know if it was bent.
Seems like it would have broken before bending.
Where is it ground down?

Well someone did a good job of making it look like its supposed to be that way, except for the bend.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

I see the difference. Must have broken off when they bent it , probably using it as a pry bar?
It was a long time ago , no color difference.
I'll examine it tomorrow for the grind marks.
Thanks for the help guys , got my question answered and an education.
It was a freebie , tossed in with another purchase , I was curious about the bend.
