practise practise practise
« on: March 28, 2015, 04:05:43 PM »
Went to a little auction today that was all tools. Needed to practice for the MVWC auction at York in a couple of weeks. This is what they sold me. One nice thing about being ancient, the ringmen helped me carry to the car. They knew my number by heart before the auction was over since I bought 47 times. All I really wanted was a 541T wrench. I got it.

Not sure that Ive ever seen such a nice spread from one auction. How much did you have to give for it all?
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

I know if I was there (and didn't know anyone) I would have tried to lighten your load by taking  some of those home myself.

Nice job there Jim.  Looks like a good day at the auction!

I've got $100 in the 4 planes and $202 in the rest of stuff. A little bit off the reservation for Mr Dollar Wrench.

I don't think your too far off that dollar mark when you count them all up. I also think you did very well with your purchase.
I see some nice stuff in there.

I'm jealous. Auction season doesn't start around here for another month.
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

You guys are lucky, We don't have tool auctions here in Hawaii, only garage sales & Pawn shops...  and hardly any unusual tools like yours, (not much farm land, most used by Sugarcane & Pineapple Plantations)  sometimes I do get lucky with some vintage Japan tools...

Got Saturday auction tools unboxed. I miscounted tickets actually bought 66 lots. Even counting some tied together pieces as one I counted 200+ items. Like I counted the Mac combo set in roll-up as one. Now to decide;do I keep it;do I send it to auction;do I e-bay it;do I take it to York. Decisions, desisions decisions.

nice clean lots that you have there, I see some nice adjustable wrenches there.
I like your problem trying to decide what to do with them,
a busy mind is a healthy mind. good luck on your final decision.
