Farmer friend found a post drill in his iron pile and asked if it was worth trying to sell. My advise was it would probably not be worth the shipping cost. Located in central IL. It is going to salvage yard unless rescued. I guess I could buy it but don't have a post. Since I live alone an don't have a behavior monitor;I guess I could plant a post in my front lawn and use it as a lawn ornament. Anyone nearby that would like to have it I'm sure he would sell it cheap. Haven't seen it and don't know condition.

well is it complete? how worn is it? what brand is it?  some people will buy anything! C-O dp was outside for a while! the building collapsed  on the  power hammer behind it.

There be blacksmiths all over, and vintage tool users that would appreciate a complete post drill.   Put it on Craigslist, for a local sale.   See if there is a name on it.  It should not go to the iron place in the sky.   I'm only 400 miles away, or I'd tell self that I need a third.

I would toss it on Craigslist an see if anyone bites. It probably woundlt be worth cross country shipping off eBay but surely someone local would be interested.

I hate to see any old iron go to scrap. Ide rather have some steampunk person make a table from it then good iron get scrapped.

Post drills don't come cheap, and someone in central Ill. is looking for one.  Craigslist, eBay, Etsy, whatever.
Bought mine 30 years ago and thought the price was extremely cheap at $35.

ebay or CL,  if you put it on ebay, just state in the ad that it is "pick up only".

I pick up big old toys like this  when I can find them.

95% of the world cant imaging why anyone would want them.

the other 5% would love to have one.

1% will actually buy  them.

Put it up on C-list, someone will buy it

I would guess that I spend between ~$50 to $100 on shipping for rusty tools per week half the weeks.

There are plenty of people out there to whom shipping is just part of life.

PS - I haven't been a tool seller, if so I would probabably have to quadruple that, at least.

Owner got post drill uncovered. Been in dry storage and everything turns but is has lots of gunk on it.
It is a Champion Blower of Lancaster,Pa. . Anyhow heres a couple of photos.

 Located in Decatur area. Owner says price is negotiable but he could use a battery powered impact if someone wanted a trade. I didn't remember seeing a bed or table or whatever you call the plate the workpiece rests on while you are drilling and owner confirmed that part is missing.

From were I am to the center of Decatur is almost 3 hours one way.

The smart side of my brain says refrain from driving 6 hours to get another tool you don't need, can't afford or can't store either. The other side of my brain is telling me the exact oposite.

When it comes to a split decision, the thickness of my wallet is the deciding and final factor.   I have two, drove 90 miles for one.
