Wilton Vise
« on: September 04, 2011, 12:23:56 AM »
I'm thinking about making an offer on this brand new Wilton vise. I don't know what the going rate is. What would be a good ballpark deal for me that the owner is likely to accept? I don't know the model number off hand. Don't even know if all Wiltons are USA made. I don't think I'd be interested if it weren't American made. Anyone recognize it? A model number I could look up? Thanks, kr.

Be aware that *some* of wilton's vises are made in china...
"Made to Wilton 's Specifications in China"

This includes some of the round beams ones, contrary to popular belief...

Pretty, thick, heavy paint hides a lot of things...
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

This is True! AND, they do take the time to "Bondo-in" their casting defects, as I have found with the two ROC's that I have owned, over the years. Lol ! As far as I'm concerned, they make a good Welding Room, or Beater Vise for the Money, if you can get one for around the 30 dollar mark (used), they are worth it, IMO. None of the ROC's I have, or had, were marked with the Wilton name on them, so maybe this one is held to a higher standard? Also, If the 99 dollar price that Brian showed us was at HF, you can take another 20% off of that any day of the week, with a coupon.
