unknown socket extension
« on: October 22, 2014, 05:24:34 PM »
I recently acquired this socket and wonder if anyone recognizes it. Its 8 1/8 long and has 1/2 six point socket  and 9/16 six point socket on other end. No markings. Center portion is 1/2 square. outer surface of socket ends show rather coarse turning marks.

I'm guessiog here but it is similar to the wrenchs that go thru a wheel hub to remove the bolts so wheel can be remover.  Think Harley and Indian MCs.

Except that those were Allens, not hex bolts.

Could be part of a spare tire removal kit. Used to lower the spare down on a pick up or heavy duty truck.
Usually a hole in the bumper you slip an item like that through. Just a guess.
