The one scrap yard i go to sold to new owners. If you talked to the right person they would take propane tanks an just open em up, an then go smash the valve off an throw it in the pile. Same with Freon. They also were known to accept sewer grates an covers along street signs if you ask the right person. It became a creepy place real quik an more then just metal selling an buying. I stopped going there after all that. A few weeks later they were in news about getting shut down.
