Hello,
My name is Dan and I am an RN by trade, but love my old tools, I have a special affinity for screwdrivers, especially Yankees (before Stanley) and Kraeuters. I love the feel and finish of all my old tools. I got started after my Uncle Delmas died in 1979, and I received a phone call from my Aunt in 1999 (twenty years later) asking if I still wanted his tools. She said she wanted to wait until I was old enough (I was 32 in 1999). It took the better part of a year to go through and inventory all he had, from Billings, to S-K, to Snap-On, to MAC... you name it, he had it.
My Yankee collection started prior to that and numbers near 50 pieces. Some ratcheting, some not, some not screwdrivers. In time, I want to convince my wife to allow them inside. :-).
I can't say it enough, and I'm sure there's agreement, they (Yankees and most of the old tools) were built to a better standard, not just a select few (Snap-On).
