But is it ergo?  Ergonomic is such a buzz word these days, a darling word of marketing strategies.  It must be ergonomic to some advertiser.   The ads from the early 30's claim it makes holding it is easier on the hand, requiring less stress to the muscles, and that it reduces blisters, so I guess it would be ergonomic. 
The trouble is, all hand tools have been designed to be comfortable extensions of the human hand, and to work efficiently with the geometry of the human body, so one might consider all hand tools to be ergonomic.
