I'm sure I'd know a few collectors out there. Would cost me about $125 just in gas alone to go, would really like to know if I can actually plan on buying or if I'd just be a spectator. If I'm gonna spend that kind of money just to watch, I'd be better off saving it for a different sale.
I have 20 on my list that I could use for my collection. Another dozen or so I really want to see up close. And the one I just want to actually handle once, if it is the real thing.
The issue I see is that he's had similar auctions every year the past few years, and some wrenches in this one look eerily similar to the ones in previous years, and they are pretty scarce wrenches. Looks a bit fishy. I'd really like somebody to speak up that has had interactions with that auctioneer out there. I know he sells for Donnelly, but he is only working for him then, not for himself.
BTW, if you think the paint is bad on this auction, look at some of his completed ones. Had a Casaday cutout a couple years back, god awful color paint on it. Wish I had the money that I could ruin a $1,000+ wrench.
