> insanely restricted V-6 filters
Always liked Dodge V6 with the filter over the frame rail so you can't reach it, can't get a wrench on it, and when you finally get it off, it gushes oil all over the frame....
(Never seen a Bonney strap type wrench, something else to look for...)
My Toyota 22R is a piece of cake. Oil filter lays sideways, so, you put a pan under the truck, undo it from the side, no problem. Want to get one of the form-o-funnels - I think that would reduce the mess.
The Chevy V-6 has the filter vertical, tucked in the corner of the crankcase and transmission mounting plate. And there really isn't the swing room for the handled band wrenches or filter pliers-type removers. Figured this style of band wrench might work better.
Plus all the oil blows out once you break the seal, and you're right in there. Having a pit would really help...lol
