Vintage Hargrave #600 Clamp fixures 1954?
« on: July 12, 2011, 11:29:23 PM »
Hi guys, today I purchased a pair of new in box Hargrave #600 Clamp Fixtures and was having a bit of trouble finding information on them. I was only able to find one link about these particular clamps from an old issue of Popular Mechanics.
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me anything more about them. Are these fairly rare? Would they have any value to a collector in this condition?

Thanks for your help! Nick

I'm not sure those are very collectable, I've seen plenty of them around, and am fairly certain I have one set out in the shop.

Yeah I have at least 6 of these in the shop, not new in the box of course. Mine are well used.
I doubt they have much collector value, yet.
In another 30 or 50 years they will. Especially if the boxes are kept nice.

This seems like a long time, but in my own lifetime I have tossed out boxes I shouldn't have. Several times.
Wish I had them back I still have the tools and the tools are still fine condition, but the boxes would make them valuable.

Welcome to tooltalk!

As far as if there rare or not there fairly common. That brand may be more or less common then I know but the tool itself is common. That exact design for pipe clamps is still made today by several companies.

As far as value I dont think theres much there. You might be able to get ten bucks for them on ebay and thats if its the right buyer. However as Scott mentioned your lucky to have to boxes in such good condition.
