My 4-13-13 Finds
« on: April 13, 2013, 01:22:05 PM »
I attended the Crafts of NJ club tool auction today. Club members can submit tools to sell. The public can attend and buy but can't enter lots for sale. The best catch was the 11 3/4 inch long wrench marked Haddon & Campbell Elizabeth NJ. It is an example of patent 107,871 granted to Daniel Campbell and William Saul on October 4, 1870. Datamp has it listed as not known to have been manufactured. The front face of the main bar is "V" shaped. The knurled adjusting nut is oversized and the adjusting screw has left hand threads.

The screw driver is a marked Perfect Handle with patent date of Aug 25, 03. The tip is just under 3/4 wide. The shaft is about 17/32 square and it is 10 3/8 long. This was a parking lot tailgate item. The seller called it a machinist screw driver.

Last but not least is a 1/4 inch drive Billings Vitalloy M-145 ratchet.

All will be cataloged and added to my keepers.

I'll just say they weren't cheap except the Billings was $5. I went to the auction to see the wrench and couldn't pass on it. The other items like I said were tailgate items outside the auction.
