I think they're earlier -- not positive.  Hard to beat this bevel square.  One of these is on my bench always.  Nothing about the stop ever gets in the way of anything.  Great tool!

Early ones had the patent date cast into the handle -- 7 14 08

Walters guide says they were produced with nickel plating from 1898-1984. I think the notched rectangle logo was first used in about 1925

I looked thru some catalog's and the 1914 has a rounded logo and the 34 has the notched type. But, also saw one with a square cornered logo. And, my handle measures 6 1/16" and the catalog's for the 10" model have 6 1/8 & 6 1/4".
If all the info was in one spot it would make it nice, but also boring.
I found prices on these from 15 - 92 dollars, sure glad mine was $4.

Four bucks?!  You're lucky I didn't see it first.

I'm surprised that it's not painted red. (-;  Seriously, that's a cool old square. Sounds like you got it plenty cheap too
