DAMN ,I have a peice of wallnut trim that is 7 inch x1/2 inch x 2 inch. if I wasn't to damn forgetfull i would have thrown in the package  kick in butt   bob w.

I made it out to the lumberyard/woodworking supply today. I had so much other stuff to get I forgot to get the wood for this project. It's a two hour drive round trip so I will have to do it another time.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.

Well guys Ime back to this project. I picked up curly walnut a while back and gave it a shot. I failed miserably.

I am currently cleaning up my shop trying to uncover my workbench to start this project again. I have brass stock somewhere but I can't find it, its here somewhere.

I just have some scrap trim I am gonna practice on. Once I feel confident I will go buy more walnut(I really liked the grain an shade)
