I know, just kidding around. Those are really nice tools though, and the price is more than right. It's just one of those things I always put off, and then, next thing you know .... gone.

I've been looking at that combo since he posted it. Couldn't take it anymore, had to bite. LOL.

I have a s-50 armstrong, and I'm curious if they are similar, or just coincidence they have the same model number.

Whats the verdict on similarities between the Williams and Armstrong S-50s?

They are different in shape, and mechanism design, and the Armstrong one comes 8-10 years  after Williams S-50. so, just coincidental, perhaps because 1/2 is .50 inches, or just because sales folks liked the number 5....

Ironicly, both were followed by short lived model 51's...(perhaps mechanics don't like the number 1)

(It is strange how much more refined the Williams one looks than the Armstrong one, given it's greater age...)
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Rusty,

You are correct. Only thing the same is the model designation. Not much else is similar. I still like them both, and they now reside with my other "drive plug" style ratchets by Duro and Cornwell. I'll try to post a picture of them all later.
