John Deere tools help request
« on: January 07, 2013, 10:19:57 AM »
I have an opportunity to buy some Deere dealer tools, but I have no idea how to value them.

Can anyone help?

Prolly a PM off list will be better.

Thanks

Skip:  The last auction I went to, there was a 1/2" John Deere rat and socket set in it's metal box and
US made that went for a paltry $35 and the combo wrenches brought about $55  IIRC.  the stuff made in Taiwan is worthe less than Harbor Freight fare.

These are dealer repair tools on pegboards.

Guy says he had to buy them from JD to be able sell tractors

heres a pic of something similar

I'm sure they must be useful to JD guys, but I dont get the same warm fuzzy feeling like Oily's Thorsen display.

Those are different than the deere branded consumer silly tools.
OTC service tools for JD equipment, totally different story.
You will have to find the right person to buy them tho, looks like bearing and front end tools....

(And the drain plug wrench from hell)
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
