I need to find
« on: December 20, 2012, 02:18:13 AM »
An old worn out Motorcraft 2150 or Autolite 2100 which are a 2 barrel carb that look like this.

What I specifically need is the electric choke assy ( the bulb assy you see on the left ) for my truck. If any of you guys have any local salvage yards that you frequent I would appreciate the help. Here in FL everything old is getting crushed, maybe its that way everywhere.

I search on-line and I cannot find any for sale, maybe thats because no-one wants them though since it is 2 barrel.
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

Stating known applications might help.  If I recall correctly this was a 302 but don't remember the year range.

Do you need the choke? (black plastic) or the whole assembly that bolts on to the carb?

My guess is that one off a 4-barrel would also work.  Ford would have used as many interchangeable parts as possible.

Maybe the guys on the GG forum could offer some help.  Just a thought.

Hey 1930. Reach out to this guy. He is here in Texas and has been restoring carbs for a long time.

He is selling his carb resto business but I'm pretty sure he has what you need.

Can't help you with your specific request but I just discovered the same thing about my '86 Toyota carb. The electric choke "warmer" assembly is no longer made. So, when it goes, I'll be jury-rigging the thing.

Here is my pile of "spare" 2b carbs off Ford's - I think all Holley.  Checked them they either don't match your models or have the tag missing.  Put on your bifocals and let me know if you see something you need.

Might be a stupid question, but....
The 2150 lists 3 different types of choke systems, manifold heat, manifold heat with electric assist, and full electric choke.....

I have manifold heat now, dont want that as the tube is missing and I do not have stock manifolds with the inlet for the tube. I could lay tube next to manifold but I dont like the looks, I am looking for the full electric choke. I think that maybe Derek has it there.

I think you have what I need Derek, I have been told that Holley bought the Autolite 4100 (4bbl version of 2100) design from Ford in the late 60's.

Can you please send me better ( clearer ) pictures. I will try and start identifying now but its hard when they are in a pile like that. Thanks

Actually, unless I am misunderstanding you the choke is the metal flapper and the black plastic is the cup that encases whatever form of choke actuator was used. I need the cup and its internals that actuate the choke.

You are right but its easier at this point to possibly narrow down what I need by sticking with a certain application.
