Do you think there is a chance all old posts will be saved?
I may be able to find a few, but in general, no.

I was gone to Texas for a few days to buy old wrenches and came back to find that Tooltalk has disappeared!
What happened?

A malware attack on the FORMER hosting service destroyed all php files and the forum and the website were lost.

Well, it took about a dozen tries spread over the last couple of days, but I finally managed to register.  System kept refusing my e-mail address; was wondering if it was because it's the same one I had used on the older incarnations of Papawswrench / Tool Talk.  Apparently not, because this time it went through fairly smoothly.  Good thing, too, because I just closed the only other e-dress I had (by retiring!).

Thanks, Papaw!  I intend to help with rebuilding of the power tools area; it may take a little while before I'm up to speed, though.  This layout doesn't seem to be quite as intuitive as the V-board one, but maybe it will get easier as I become familiar with it.

Glad your back online. To bad most of the information on your old site is lost. Lot's of good stuff gone.
How many post's before I can shake that newbie tag under my name?

I usually don't care about those things, but I did adjust the system so that your "newbie" tags will go a way with a lot fewer posts than most forums use. It will only take 10 posts to change it, and 15 to make "Full Member" status. Once we get most of the old members back, I will up those levels.

I'm ready to reboot the ratchet internal mechanism's thread whenever you give the word.
Really looking forward to restoring TT to what it was before the destruction.

Do it! I hope we can encourage everyone to resurrect a lot of the old stuff we had.

I still have the pic of the guts of the stainless Craftsman 1/2 ratchet. And I still have some pics of the PH phakes and the double ended adjustable I made… fake
If all else fails use a bigger hammer…
