Is this a rasp?

This is the first time I've seen one of these I believe and the man who sold it to me said it was a rasp. It has like hacksaw blades on both sides, but one side the teeth are very fine.

I have seen roughing rasps like this that look like they are made out of laminated hack saw blades.

Yes its a rasp
 They sold these in the 70's. All the great mail order catalogs had them.
  They really are laminated hacksaw blades.

Yes, an interesting design, fairly effective but I got rid of the one I found because I found I don't need a flat rasp as much as a half-round.  Flat work I can do with a block plane.

They worked great for me, got mine in the 70's, used it for cutting down Bondo,  Cuts fast, didn't clog up, but for ruff cuts as it leaves cut lines.
