Woodworking something or another.....?
« on: October 01, 2012, 03:48:01 AM »
No part numbers or ID what so ever.  The plates are ribbed aluminum with the black parts being steel.  The u shaped bar refers to rear stabilizers needing to be in place during use.  For a dollar, it was worth the scrap price, but my curiosity/ignorance begs this post.  Help anybody???  also notice the old Reliant(CP-750) air impact in the background)

My dewalt chop saw has a big U shaped steel bar that looks just like that stuck to the back. No clue what it is for, perhaps the thing is an extension table for a chop saw?????
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

As does mine, and so does the Makita.  I believe it is to stabilize the rear of the saw in the case it isn't mounted downward.  That has been my assumption anyway - not having used the things.

The Dewalt parts catalog calls mine a "stabilizer base".

I'd like to see the fence side of that shiny L-shaped thingy jigger.

My memory got jogged.   I used to work in a woodworking store till it got sold and moved about 400 miles away.
I believe it is pieces parts (accessories) to a mobile miter saw station.
